Spenden und Gutes tun zur Weihnachtszeit gehört einfach dazu. Doch wie? Eine chilenische Prostituierte findet ausziehen anziehend: Sie versteigert ihre Dienste und spendet den Erlös einem guten Zweck.
Maria Carolina kündigte in dem streng katholischen Land ihre mit käuflicher Liebe erworbene Spende für eine Wohltätigkeitsveranstaltung im Fernsehen an, die von Freitagabend an 27 Stunden Geld für arme, behinderte Kinder sammelt.
Ehrlich erarbeitetes Geld
Sie habe bereits insgesamt 4000 Dollar zugesichert bekommen, sagte Carolina. "Einer meiner Kunden hat schon gezahlt, es schien für ihn eine gute Tat zu sein." Der Organisator der Wohltätigkeits-Show im Fernsehen sagte, er würde die Menschen nicht zu unmoralischen Tätigkeiten ermutigen. Die von der Prostituierten angekündigte Spende wolle er aber annehmen.
Maria Carolina verteidigte ihr Vorhaben: "Es gibt Leute, die spenden Geld, das sehr viel fragwürdiger ist als meins", sagte sie. In Chile ist die Prostitution Erwachsener legal.

PROSTITUTE WITH A HEART OF GOLD FOR TELETÓN
Like many Chileans, María Carolina wants to do her part to help the annual Teletón campaign for Chile’s disabled children. The Teletón’s marathon of public donations begins this Friday and will last for 27 hours.
But given her unique position as of one Chile’s best-known prostitutes, Maria Carolina’s contribution will come in an unusual fashion – she has pledged to donate all her earnings during the 27 hours the Teletón is broadcast. Since her rate is 150,000 pesos (about US$290) per 90 minutes, her contribution could be quite substantial.
“I will work during the time that the program lasts in order to earn money for the children of the Teletón, and then deposit it in the bank” said María Carolina. “They will be my own 27 hours of love.”
Carolina has an unlikely ally in her corner: Ricardo Krebs, an historian and an expert on the Catholic Church. “I think it is a wonderful decision and of great moral value” said Krebs.
Still, not everyone is so enthusiastic, at least not Teletón host Mario Kreutzberger. When asked about María Carolina’s donation proposal, Kreutzberger said, “This is outside my moral boundaries.”
In response to those who claim she will not fulfill her pledge, Ms. Carolina intends to put the receipt on her website (www.mariacarolina.cl) after making the donation.
